Frank Hawleyâs Drag Racing School Dragster Adventure Challenge Program
Recently, about 20 of us editorial types had the opportunity to attend the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School in Fontana, California, to take part in their one-day Dragster Adventure Challenge Program. We thought it would be fun to share with you a quick video featuring a personal view of making a 10-5-second quarter-mile pass in one of the schoolâs Super Comp big-block powered dragsters, from engine startup to the final turn off.

One of the tuning runs for our leftover LS1 iron 5.7L LS engine build. This was with the upgraded Fast 92mm intake and we ran it up to the rev limiter. Later we raised the limiter a bit and squeezed out a couple more hp.

We took the rotating guts from an LS1 engine and stuffed them into a bored out 5.3L block for a budget engine that put out over 450 horsepower on the Westech Superflow 902 dyno!
2017 Big Red Camaro Unveil at Westech Chassis Dyno Tune
We check out the rebuilt (from the 2016 fire) Big Red 1969 Camaro at Westech Performance. They were there to do drivability tuning and couldn't go more than half throttle before the tires would spin on the dyno rollers. Power comes from a ProCharged (F3) methanol-fed 598-inch big-block that puts anywhere from 1,600 to over 2,000 hp dependion on boost.
