Super Chevy On The Left Coast

Sometimes I get so wrapped up tinkering at the shop that I forget to keep everyone up to date on what's going on. I'm taking this opportunity to catch y'all up on what's in the west coast Super Chevy Shop.

After I got the car all in one color I loaned it to the guys at Spectre Performance so they could use it to R&D a bunch of new products. Now that its back in the shop I have been tinkering with the exterior trim. Look for a complete grille how to in the Chevelle special.

This is a friend of the magazine's ride that he has fitted with a big bore short stroke small block. The car was in paint jail for almost a year. Now that its been paroled the owner has been carefully reassembling it. We recently just rebuilt the vent window assemblies and that story is also coming out in the Chevelle special. The car is also going to receive a new dash cluster and gauges, which will appear in an upcoming issue of Super Chevy.

One of the last customs pops has finished. This truck has a custom chassis with a mellow 350 under the hood. Built more for cruising instead of going fast the truck is so much fun to take to cruise night. We just got the truck back after loaning it to the guys from Top Gear USA. They used it a prop in the background go if you happen to see a lager chunk of yellow sheetmetal behind the hosts in some shots, that's this truck.

This fine piece of machinery was built by my father and really doesn't need much. We still bring it out to upgrade small parts here and there. The car runs a 502 big block, TH400 trans, and 9-inch rear. The old man grafted in 67-72 Chevy truck rear suspension but we still need to rework the coil over geometry to get the back working right.

Right now the car is up on the lift waiting for me to stuff the freshly rebuilt TH400 trans back in. The car has a trans leak that I thought was the front pump seal. Come to find out it was a cracked converter. Look for the install right here on Superchevy.com.
