So you're cruising down the boulevard in your blown Heavy Chevy rolling on 17s. In a panic you slam on the brakes and the pedal drops to the floor. As you sit patiently on the side of the road waiting for a wrecker, you think: "This car is 47 years old, considering the huge amount of horsepower it has and the vast number of vehicles on the road today, I think it is safe to say a brake upgrade is in order."
Classic Performance Products can assist in your needs. CPP houses a huge inventory of steering, brakes, and suspension products. As the industry evolves, so does CPP.
For a brake upgrade within our budget, we chose CPP's Front and Rear Big Brake Kit. The complete kit costs $1,498 and will work with stock spindles and axles. All necessary components and hardware are included for ease of installation. When purchasing a complete kit, CPP also includes a four-wheel disc manual/power brake master cylinder and proportioning valve kit. Call CPP, as many options are available.

Thinking outside the box, let's say you've just added a 150-shot of nitrous. Your hot rod already has a built engine and transmission, but due to the added horsepower the converter is way off and shifts are not as crisp as desired.
A call to Level 10 Performance Transmission Systems provided us with some answers. Level 10 recently announced its new billet torque converter. Custom designed internals that are specific to your application are contained within a billet housing which keeps rotating mass to a minimum, allowing for rapid increase in rpm. The higher torque multiplication delivers an increase in power to the wheels for some serious acceleration. Pricing starts at $1,179.
As an added bonus, Level 10 has announced its new valvebody calibration service, which is believed to be the first of its kind. By telling the professionals at Level 10 what kind of modifications you have made to your ride and how you would like the transmission to perform, they will custom-calibrate your existing valvebody to fit your needs. Pricing for this service starts at $398, bringing our total to $1,577. It's a little over our budget, so you'll have to brown bag it for a couple days.
