The Tri-Five Chevy has been a staple of the hot rod and customizing crowd for so long that it's getting hard to find a hot part that grabs your attention. Eddie Motorsports (EMS) has that wow factor part in the way of the company's new billet hood hinges for Tri-Fives. These hinges are made to be a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock-and let's face it, ugly-hood hinges. They bolt up and function just like the originals, but that is where the similarities end. The hinges are whittled out of a few chunks of 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and instead of rivets, these feature Allen bolts and sealed bearings for smooth-as-silk articulation. Also, instead of a big and unsightly spring, these use a small gas strut. They come in two standard finishes, polished and machined. EMS can also provide a custom color with the company's Fusioncoating process; just let them know what you are thinking when ordering. Here are the machined hinges from Eddie Motorsports (EMS). These beautiful benders are not only functional, but they are a design piece. They will improve the overall look of the engine compartment and add some stability to an otherwise sloppy hood. We are sure there was a ton of time and energy creating the hinges, but they are still reasonably priced at $550 for machined finish and $600 for the polished version. Here are the machined hinges from Eddie Motorsports (EMS).
