Oh I shudder to think how long something like this takes. Sanding the jambs and all the nooks and crannies on a car can take quite a bit of your time. However if a car is going to be repainted, it is a necessary evil. And what's more, this is one of those projects that you can do yourself and save some cash. If you had to pay a body shop their hourly rate to do this job you might be looking at a couple hundred dollars of time. But if you take the time yourself, you just might be able to save some cash for the paint job.

In order to do it right, every thing on the B-pillar and even some of the interior body panels are removed, use zip lock baggies and label all the parts Passenger or Driver, it easier to keep track that way.

We used about three coats of the etch primer on the bare metal. The little bit of red that you see at the bottom of each door are trim pieces that are going to be pulled of and blasted, so we didn't need to touch those...

...Ok so these are just the door jambs. Now the fun part of sanding down the hood edges, and edges of the Camaro hatch back and jambs are all part of the job too. Somebody has got to do it and I'd rather it was me than somebody who is getting paid by the hour to do so.
