Certain flexplates have dual bolt patterns. Some don't. If you're in doubt, think of this: As mentioned, some aftermarket converters have dual patterns for the converter legs. This allows the converter to be installed on either of the flexplate styles. Before the final installation of a converter, line it up to the flexplate and make sure that the mounting pads fit flush and are in correct alignment with the bolt pattern. In addition, check the flexplate bolts; they must fit the properly. If necessary, the flexplate can be drilled, but no more than 0.010 inch larger than the torque converter bolts.
