12. We saw 10 less peak horsepower, but a 20-plus average horsepower increase across the bottom end, and a corresponding average torque increase of 30-plus lb-ft. Peak horsepower came 200 rpm earlier in the powerband at 4,800, versus 5,000 for the flat tappet. Peak torque moved up 100 rpm, to 3,600, and increased 26 lb-ft as well.
