The use of four-bolt nodular iron main caps makes the Motown block strong, but the doweled main cap alignment and larger 1/2-inch main cap bolts make it practically indestructible. Billet splayed caps are available on request but are not necessary on a street car. Strength is also improved by casting the front and rear bulkheads 1-inch thick compared to GM's .100 inch (typical). View Related Article
