Even experienced nitrous users can have problems. Pete Franco of Waldwick, N.J. had been using spray for years on his '85 small-block-powered Camaro when one day he mistakenly ran too high a bottle pressure. This resulted in a lean condition and detonation, breaking off part of the piston on the right. The fragments then circulated to most of the other cylinders as well, pummeling the pistons and cylinder heads. The moral of the story is that you can never be too careful!
