The LS7 head is the foundation for the LSX head...

...but even in this first attempt at a higher performance version, you can see the six bolts per cylinder and necessary added material.

Stock LS7 heads flow 360 cfm, so you can only imagine what GM Performance Parts versions will flow when released. Here's Reggie torquing them down.

The LS7 carbureted intake manifold is available from GM Performance Parts as PN 25534394. This intake allows you to put your favorite carburetor on an LS7 crate engine or any application that utilizes the new LS7 heads. Notice the injector bosses for fuel injection applications.

Reggie zips the bolts down on the GM Racing LS7 intake manifold. Of course, he followed up with a torque wrench.

The finished 454 LSX engine-the very first application of the new GM Performance Parts LSX Bow Tie block. But how would it perform?

The result is an astounding 641 hp and over 610 lb-ft of torque. With that kind of power, the team wonders how fast the '69 Camaro will be once it gets this LSX engine installed back in Michigan.
