Danger Mouse specs for Part 28 - Test 45355 cid, 10.0:1 cr, 4.030-bore 4-bolt Motown block, 3.48-stroke Lunati crank, 5.7-inch Lunati rods, Lunati flat-top forged pistons, Speed-Pro moly rings, Edelbrock E-Tec 170 heads (64cc chambers, 170cc intake ports, 70cc exhaust ports, 1.94" intake valves, 1.55" exhaust valves), Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake manifold, Edelbrock Performer RPM hydraulic roller camshaft installed at 105-degree intake CL (234/238 @ .050, 296/300 adv, .574/.584 lift w/ COMP 1.6:1 rockers, 112 LS), 36 degrees total advance, 91-octane. Tested on Speed-O-Motive's DTS dyno.

Someone suggested, since the smaller cylinder heads added so much power, that maybe the 1 3/4-inch headers we've been running all this time might be a bit large. We didn't have time to try out another set this month, but maybe we'll wrangle up some new pipes and see how DM can blow.

The new combination of high velocity heads and intake probably pulled just bit more fuel, causing DM to run a tad rich. So we removed just two jet sizes from the primary side of the Mighty Demon carb and found a good fuel curve after that.

Just for kicks, we also tested a 1-inch open carb spacer, to see if there was more power there. Turned out that DM liked things better the way they were, as power fell off using the spacer. Just goes to show that you won't know until you try it.
