For our final assault, we used a pair of our old 15x4 Weld Draglite’s mounted with new 26x4.5 Moroso DS-2 front skinnies. Weighing in at only 27 pounds each (16 pounds less) along with the less rolling resistance Moroso DS-2s, we hoped for a tenth and 1-mph in which lightweight skinnies are usually worth. With precious little weight transfer to plant the rear tires, spin (haze) occurs at 10 through 50 feet out on every pass. The M&H’s did provide more consistent 60-foot e.t.’s (1.50) along with a 10.49 and pair of 10.50s. The front skinnies helped us roll to our best trap speed of 130.17 mph. We love our TCI front clip for its handling and driveability on the street, but it is not ideal for drag racing. Still, it’s tough to sneeze at 10.40s at 130 in a car that we drove to and from the track!
