1969 Camaro Project American Heroes Two Brake System, Engine, and Trans Install - Getting Dressed For Battle

TCI Automotive supplied the Turbo 400 transmission, trans cooler, RTF fluid, and torque converter. It's a 10-inch 3,000-4,000 rpm stall speed Street Fighter unit, featuring dual bolt pattern, needle bearings, hardened pre-ground pump hub, and computer balancing.

The Gear Vendors Overdrive is bolted to the Gear Vendors tailhousing, and readied for installation.

Hooker long-tube headers for LS-1 swaps in first-gen F-bodies are installed on the engine after it is mounted on the DSE hydroformed subframe. Beautiful stainless steel finish looks great on the headers, will certainly hold up for a very long time. They feature 18-gauge primary tubes that are 1 3/4-inches in diameter.

Hooker headers look great, with smooth, flowing tubes for the least amount of exhaust backpressure for the LS application. Fit is perfect, and they installed with no problems.

Flex-a-Lite fans have been around since 1978. Electric fans eliminate the parasitic drag of a heavy, stock belt-driven fan, and therefore produce measurable gains in horsepower and torque.

Not only does the Flex-a-Lite fan do a great job cooling the engine, but the company claims quicker warm ups and cool downs, longer water pump life, less fan noise, improved air conditioner performance, and improve gas mileage.

The 18-inch Intro Wheels look awesome. They do a great job of tying the red and black paint scheme together. This Camaro is making some serious progress, stay tuned!
