1955 Chevy Wheel
A defining element of any modified car is the tire and wheel package. We went for a nostalgia look with our chassis, ordering a set of Coker Classic radial wide whitewalls and Wheel Vintiques Smoothie chrome wheels (see story text for sizes). The tires and wheels arrived from Coker mounted, balanced and ready to bolt on.

1955 Chevy Brake Lines

We opted to bend our own lines, so we ordered 3/16-inch stainless steel tubing (in various lengths) from Classic Tube. The lines were sent to us pre-flared on one end, and Classic Tube included a flaring tool so we could flare the other ends.

Plumbing the brake system also required a proportioning valve. We got a GM-style proportioning valve (the same type used on many Chevelles and Camaros) from Classic Performance Products. We also got some stainless steel Kugel Komponents line clamps (which are also available from CPP).

1955 Chevy Brake Hose
Other miscellaneous parts needed for plumbing the brake system included a rubber brake hose (which links the frame line to the rearend housing), a brass junction block for the rearend housing, plus a set of hose-to-bracket clips. These items came from Danchuk.
