Classic 1971 Chevrolet Camaro - Techno Flyer

The Hotchkis F-71 Camaro has a solid suspension to take full advantage of the LS1's fluid power. Baer Claw stoppers and Bilstein dampers will make short order of the stop signs and bumps in the road.

Here's how well the underneath of the F-71 project looks. Note the routing of the pipes over the 9-inch rearend. Also, you can see the Fourth-Generation Camaro's plastic fuel tank at the top of the photo.

A Currie Enterprises 9-inch rearend handles the chore of transmitting the power to the massive Yokohama rear tires. An aluminum driveshaft was also employed to cut critical rotating mass and provide a smoother transition of torque.

While there's always a temptation for excess, in the case of the exhaust system for the F-71, Team Hotchkis chose a tried and true 2 1/2-inch Flowmaster system that followed the stock route of the factory dual exhaust. A quality system with a nice sound and sharp-looking chrome tips.

Another view of the underside exudes the meticulous attention given every aspect of the project.

Looking down the checklist! It appears that the only thing missing at this point is the hood-and a driver.
