For me, it was a rare and beastly 1966 Fairlane 427 that started it all. My father has been racing it since he bought it as a teenager, and it's hard not to fall into the hobby when your most vivid childhood memories always involve something automotive. Dad was always taking the family on long drives to nowhere on Sundays and bringing my brothers and me to the track, so I think it just snowballed from there. My mom's and older brother's first cars were Mustangs and I followed suit at sixteen, buying myself a 1989 5.0 LX. Now, a few years, two 5.0s, and a college degree later, I'm doing what I love -- writing about muscle cars. And while I'm a Ford girl at heart, any American V8 can get my adrenaline pumping. Favorite non-Ford? A black 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. By Stephanie Davies Enjoyed this Post? Subscribe to our RSS Feed, or use your favorite social media to recommend us to friends and colleagues!
