The block number is 10066036 which when you run it turns out this is a Goodwrench or "targetmaster" crate engine so it is a truly new motor sadly it was made in mexico and not the us lol. The heads are casting number 10066036 which are 76cc heads. After reading the mouse motor build they are 76cc heads with 1.94 1.50 valves which they say if you deck them it takes them down to 73cc and bumps up the compression a little to a whopping 8.4 to 1 and a port job and bowl blend does wonders for them. The Holley intake 300-38 i have turns out after doing research is the same as the stock intake so now im shopping for an intake. The cam that i have thats been sitting on a shelf for a couple years is magically damaged so now im also shopping for a cam and looking at the comp cams 268h. So my questions now are should I keep the stock valves in the head and change to 1.6 rockers to save the money or should i upgrade to 2.02/1.60 valves when i deck the heads and port and polish them? Also what intake do you like? Ive always ran just edelbrock performers but i know some of the other intakes have different advantages and i do want to make the most out of this since im stuck buying the parts. What are your opinions on the comp cams 268h or should i run a different cam. Im not worried about fuel economy as this is just a recreational car/toy I have 2 different carbs in front of me that i can use. A Edelbrock 1400 600cfm electric choke and a Holley 3310-4 750 cfm any opinions?

Help with engine build... first timer |

Luckily for the customer the keepers and retainer stayed in place. The valve spring was just slighty shorter in appearance while still on the motor, it barely caught my attention but was causing run problems. just some input, food for thought

454 Big Block Noise.. dumb question?? |

I am doing this because I think my Holley is leaning out because of not enough fuel being delivered to the carb. Question is if I plug the fuel return line at the fuel tank will this effect fuel delivery? I do plan on replacing the pickup inside of the tank also so everything will be new. Is there any options for a single line sending unit? I did find one but it was the wrong year and wrong engine size. The pump I have on does not have a return line fitting. Nothing about this engine is stock either. Thanks!

fuel return line |
