For a dozen years, the American Chevelle Enthusiast Society (ACES) promoted a very cool event for Chevelle owners and general Chevy fans alike. It didn't take long for the event to grow in popularity, with an ever-growing field of '64-72 Chevrolet mid-size muscle. With car counts approaching 500 and activities such as drag racing and all-Chevelle cruises, it became much more than your average car show. For the 13th annual Chevell-aBration held June 4-6 this year, tons of awesome Chevelles rolled into Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

Marc Meadors and the Goodguys Racing team scored their second win of the season on August 15, taking the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod class at Sacramento (California) Raceway's famed "Fox Hunt." When the final score was settled late Saturday night, Meadors had defeated all comers in what turned out to be the quickest and fastest qualified field in the history of West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod competition.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on November 23, 2006, Fred Totten, an original member of the Internet forum www.348-409.com, passed away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. As a tribute to this honored member of their site, his friends and family decided to dedicate the forum's yearly reunion to Fred's memory.

For Chevrolet enthusiast Leroy McMakin, the shiny, white 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop in his garage is not just a car--it's part of his family. Since the 71-year-old president of the Tarheel Chapter of the Late Great Chevy Club bought the vehicle brand new in 1961, the car has been there for all of the major events in his life--the honeymoon with his wife, Brenda, his wife's first day and last day of teaching after 40 years at Carlisle Fosters Grove Elementary School, and his children's weddings.

With new Camaros finally starting to trickle out to dealerships across the country, GM set May 6th as the official public debut for the new fifth generation Camaro. What an amazing day! We anticipated PAH II making an impresive splash at Barrett Jackson, but we about lost our minds when the gavel banged and the auction ended.

Members of Congress, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Defense, and Department of Veterans' Affairs honored nearly 200 wounded service members on March 18th, 2009, at the 5th Annual Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) Congressional Gala. The event, hosted by Senator John McCain and Congressman C.W. Bill Young (among others), raised close to $1 million dollars and once again, our very own Project American Heroes was showcased as a featured guest. Prominently displayed in the front of the Atrium in the Ronald Reagan Building at the International Trade Center on Pennsylvania Ave, the '69 Rally Sport Camano's stunning custom paint scheme blended exquisitely with the red and black decor of the evening (this was, of course, no accident thanks to the planning by AFF president Patricia Driscoll and her dedicated staff). Fox New's Brian Kilmeade once again took the podium as the evening's emcee and kept things rolling along while Comedian Jeff Allen (www.jeffallencomedy.com) provided the entertainment.

There was not a lot of smack-talking beforehand, but I think everyone who works for Source Interlink Media, parent company of Super Chevy, Hot Rod, Car Craft and Camaro Performers, wanted to dethrone Nick Licata in the Goodguys Editors Challenge Autocross, help on Saturday, March 14, at the annual Goodguys event in Costa Mesa, California.

The Super Chevy Show in Norwalk, Ohio, proved to be one of the best shows of the year, full of heart-stopping suspense on the quarter-mile and ultra-rare Bow Ties on the lawn. True Street saw 28 warriors beating on their rides, forced air aficionado Steve Morris had his 4,000-lb behemoth wagon deep into the 8s, and rumors of grudge matches were flying. With all this going on, it was a trio of Corvettes that stole the show.

Set in the rolling farmland in the Appalachian Mountains in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, Maple Grove Raceway proved that hot rodding is alive and well in the northeast, with not an empty seat in the stands, nor grassy knoll left uncovered. The drag strip side of the track could barely hold in all the competitors, which numbered well over 600 entries and guzzled gallons and gallons of high octane go-go juice. Eliminations continued deep into Sunday as the sun started to set and the show cars piled out for the trek home.
