The first COPO Camaro built for the 2015 production run will be sold at the Palm Beach Barrett-Jackson Auction to benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans. This is the same car that was unveiled at the 2014 SEMA show and revved inside the Las Vegas Convention Center.
If you want to race this car after you buy, this COPO has the 350-inch LSX with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger that has a NHRA rating of 555 hp. The Camaro will fit nicely into the Stock Eliminator at, say, the U.S. Nationals at Indy. That’s what we would do anyway.
The serial number is, of course, 001 and the Camaro was hand built with a NHRA legal roll cage, a solid rear axel in place of the regular production independent rear axel, and a three-speed automatic transmission.
You are stuck with the Abalone White exterior and graphics so you aren’t going to sneak up on anyone, but its not street legal anyway.
