Mid America Motorworks' Corvette Funfest, billed as "the ultimate customer appreciation party," will take place on September 19-21, 2008, at Mid America's 150-acre corporate campus in Effingham, Illinois. This free event is one of the largest Corvette gatherings in the world. More than 15,000 Corvettes and 45,000 Corvette enthusiasts participated in Funfest '07.
This year's Funfest will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Corvette Challenge Race Series. Event attendees will have the chance to see the cars and meet the drivers, team owners, and significant figures who put the excitement in this period of Corvette racing history. Mid America will also be honoring "the Eights in '08." All '58, '68, '78, '88, '98, and '08 models will have their own year-specific row of parking. Special display parking will be available to '78 Pace Cars and '88 35th Anniversary Corvettes.

Corvettes at Carlisle Adds Health-Awareness Event
The Chip Miller Charitable Foundation (CMCF) will hold a Women's Wellness and Beauty Seminar on Friday, August 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Corvettes at Carlisle show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. All proceeds will benefit the CMCF in its efforts to educate people on the symptoms and treatment options for amyloidosis. Pfadt, DigitalCorvettes Invade Gingerman
Pfadt Racing and online community DigitalCorvettes.com teamed up recently to spend a day at the track with customers and forum members. The event, held at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Michigan, was designed to bring together Corvette enthusiasts for a safe day of open laps and camaraderie. Attendees were treated to both classroom sessions and in-car instruction to help teach the racing line, braking points, and proper apex techniques.

Mike Meeks of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, is the winner of this month's "Fast Lane" contest. This weekend racer owns a '98 Light Pewter Metallic convertible with an LS1 engine, an automatic trans, and an original 2.73 differential. Mods include Kooks 17/8-inch headers, B&B mufflers, an HPE "C" cam, a Vigilante 2,800-rpm torque converter, a J&B high-rise hood, 20-inch Ruff Racing wheels, and Nitto tires. Meeks' best e.t. of 12.46 at 111.14 mph was recorded at Atlanta Dragway.

SPEC Unveils Twin-disc C4 Clutch
SPEC Clutches and Flywheels has introduced a Super Twin assembly for extreme-output '84-'96 Corvettes. The new setup is said to offer near-stock driveability, tremendous life expectancy, bolt-in installation, and maintenance-free operation. Both single- and two-piece rear-main setups are available, and ZF applications include a billet hydraulic push-type conversion. Each kit includes a flywheel and race-spec hardware.
