This past weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner was not without quite a bit of entertainment. Helping to get the shindig off and running, a comedy skit was performed by Vice President Joe Biden and Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus in which Biden wheels a Velocity Yellow 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Though better known for her role as Elaine on the long-running sit-com series Seinfield, Louis-Dreyfus plays a fictional Vice President of the U.S. (Selina Meyer) in the HBO series Veep. Vice President Biden plays her partner in crime – breaking into the White House as well as The Washington Post (the “real seat of power”). The two even get matching tattoos. All the while, a 2014 Corvette Stingray is the chariot to trouble. Though, as it turns out, the Z51 equipped Corvette doesn’t even leave “the property” (presumably the US Naval Observatory house where the VP resides).
Following the viewing of this skit, President Obama himself made quite a few jokes, including some self-deprecating jabs at the new healthcare system (for the full version click here). The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a scholarship benefit for collegiate journalism programs, and is held annually for the organization of journalists that cover the White House (and the President) at the Washington Hilton.
