Come check out the action as Camaro Performers magazine editors hit the Goodguys' Meguiars OC Get-Together in Costa Mesa, California, on Saturday, May 15th, to defend their title in the Editor's Street Challenge Autocross. They'll be going up against fellow editors from Hot Rod, Chevy High Performance, Car Craft, Rod & Custom, Street Rodder, and other well-known performance magazines. Camaro Performers magazine Technical Editor Steven Rupp will be defending his 2009 title in "Bad Penny," quite possibly the most famous '68 Camaro to hit the Pro Touring scene. The car also took home the giant "Fish Bowl" at the 2008 Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Challenge in Pahrump, Nevada.

Also In 2008, Editor Nick Licata took home top honors in the inaugural Editor's Challenge Autocross in Costa Mesa driving Stacy Tucker's '69 DSE Camaro. This year Licata will debuting his recently built '01 Camaro for the event. The Z28 he calls "Black Betty" is armed with Global West suspension components and QA1 shocks. "I've been doing a lot of suspension testing on the car with Doug Norrdin, owner of Global West and it looks like we have a really good combination going right now. I'm sure we'll be making quite a few adjustments throughout the day of the event, but I think we'll be able to give Rupp and the rest of the field a run for their money," said Licata. "I know Rupp recently loaded his '68 with gobs more horsepower, but since the Goodguys Autocross courses are very tight, I don't think big horsepower is the answer. Keeping focus and having the right suspension combination is what it'll take to bring home the trophy this year."

Anyone who enters their car in the show is eligible to give the autocross course a run throughout the weekend. Remember, this show is open to all years of American muscle, so come on out and drive your hot rod and challenge your skills.
