A special edition 2015 CTS-V Coupe will help draw the era of the second-generation to a close. Just 500 of these limited editions will be produced and available later this year. According to GM, “the next generation of the V-Series debuts next year.”
Like all 2010-2014 CTS-V models, the special edition 2015 CTS-V Coupe will sport a 556hp supercharged LSA V-8, Magnetic Ride Control, and Brembo brakes. However, it separates itself with red brake calipers, satin graphite wheels, dark V grille, Recaro seats, Ebony interior with contrast red stitching, microfiber suede steering wheel and shift knob, and Midnight Sapele wood trim.
"The V-Series continues to elevate Cadillac, providing an exclusive family of high-performance luxury models that attract a new audience of elite and passionate buyers,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer, Global Cadillac.
Pricing starts at $72,195 for the special edition 2015 CTS-V Coupe, and Cadillac dealers are taking order now. Exterior colors are limited to: Crystal White, Black Diamond, and Phantom Gray.
“The special edition is a stepping stone to the next-generation V-Series, which will move to the next level with more dynamic design and technical sophistication," Ellinghaus said.
Speculation is that there may not be a CTS-V Coupe in the next-generation performance V-series lineup. Or at the very least, it seems unlikely to have a wagon and a coupe. The sedan, however, is a real winner – on the race track and the street. Our friends at Motor Trend think the CTS-V engine of choice will be a version of the 2015 Corvette Z06's supercharged LT4 that will make around 600 horsepower. We can't wait!
