The headlines read “Fire destroys Hawks Motorsports” but that was a gross exaggeration. It didn’t take Hawks Motorsports long to be back up and running a little over one day after what at first appeared to be a major fire. Hawks Motorsports owner, Bruce Hawkins reported to Super Chevy, “on Tuesday March 20th, Hawks Motorsports suffered a fire at our inventory facility in Easley, South Carolina. Damages were contained to the one building containing used inventory thanks to the work of over 70 firefighters. The office facility, showroom, new parts warehouse and performance shop did not suffer any damages.
Electrical power had to be cut to all the buildings, which resulted in Hawks being closed for a day and a half. However, as of March 22nd, Hawks was back to business as usual. Shipping time is back to the 1-2 day processing time, normal for this time of year. We appreciate the patience of all our great customers.
Although some inventory was destroyed in the fire, Hawks still has everything they had before including over 300 salvage cars and multiple other inventory buildings that were not affected. The performance shop was not at that location and suffered no setbacks or delay. Hawks is open for business and happy to help with any of your parts needs, new or used, performance installation or engine swaps. We truly appreciate all the prayers and well wishes from this wonderful community of car enthusiasts.” If someone wants to help them recover from the fire the best thing they can do is to support Hawks Motorsports by having a project built, or buying parts.
