Sorry 462 camel hump casting hoarders, Trick Flow is bringing back an aluminum version of the classic camel or double hump heads for the Chevrolet small block. If you are not familiar with the originals, they were considered a performance iron factory head with closed combustion chambers and either 1.90 or 2.02 intake valves. They became legendary as stock equipment on the fuelie Corvette and popular with circle track stocker racers because of the closed 62cc chamber for high compression, and an easy swap to larger 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves on the 1.94 versions.
By today's standards, the original double hump heads were small with a 170cc intake port. They were designed for the 327 and 350. The new heads from Trick Flow have larger 175cc intake runners and modern 60cc CNC-profiled combustion chambers with blended bowls for low-rpm and high rpm efficiency and horsepower.
On the outside, the heads have the original double hump stampings and styling with drilled accessory holes and straight plugs for the nostalgia look. Yes, they are aluminum, but with a Chevy Orange paint job, it will be really hard to tell the difference.
