Project Bad Penny, our 1968 Chevy Camaro will be featured on tonights premier episode of Top Gear USA on June 3rd at 9pm Eastern on the History Channel. Our long running project 1968 Chevy Camaro has been featured on the covers of Super Chevy, Popular Hot Rodding, and Camaro Performers Magazine along with dozens of technical stories. Powered by a 720 horsepower RHS/COMP LS engine, and backed up by a Tremec Magnum six-speed transmission, it’s sure to give the other cars a run for their money in a three-way musclecar shootout including an Elanore Ford Mustang fastback clone and 1972 Dodge Challenger.
For the Camaro, we also made sure to toss on a fresh set of Falken tires and Wilwood brake pads since we know the episode will feature plenty of hard driving. The first part of the show will feature a “shoot out” between three Pro-Touring cars; our ’68 Camaro, an Elanore Mustang fastback clone, and a worked-over, modern hemi-powered Mopar owned by Bill Howell. We heard from our spies that there’s a three-way side-by-side drag race through the streets of a major town and some stunt involving thousands of flies.
Our favorite Top Gear USA hosts including Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara will be battling it out for a chance to drag race modern factory drag cars at the Gator Nationals in Florida. So, set that DVR, or tune in, Tuesday night for all the musclecar action on the History Channel!
