A spring tradition returns to the Bluff City, as the Super Chevy Show presented by Chevrolet Performance returns to Memphis International Raceway (MIR) April 11-13. You’ll see high-powered Chevy racing excitement on the MIR strip, and hundreds of spectacular Chevy show cars and trucks in the show field, along with the nation's finest performance and restoration midway for General Motors products.

"This event is a staple in the MIR schedule, and one that we look forward to hosting each year," says Pam Kendrick, MIR’s Vice President and General Manager. "The event continues to grow in popularity and the team at MIR looks for that trend to continue as we prepare for record crowds."

This Gold Class 1970 Chevelle SS396 is typical of the quality of show cars that come to Memphis.

Beginning at noon on Friday, April 11, the Show & Shine Festival of Cars gets this year’s Super Chevy Show presented by Chevrolet Performance rolling. There’ll be specialty awards presented on Saturday, and Sunday's awards include class awards and the big prize—Best In Show. That’s also when Memphis Super Chevy swap meet kicks off. The largest on the Super Chevy circuit, you can pretty much find anything you need for your restoration, rebuild, or other project.

On the strip, drag racing action starts on Friday night with the first of three rounds of Pro Mod qualifying for their Sunday eliminations, along with MIR’s popular Test & Tune. Saturday brings a special trophy class for fifth-generation Camaros—the Gen 5 Challenge presented by S&W Race Cars—plus there’ll be True Street and Bonus Races. That’s along with the Bracket 1, Bracket 2, R. T. Turbines D.O.T. Street, R. T. Turbines Jr. Dragster, and Run for the Money eliminations that’ll run all weekend.

Memphis’ Super Chevy True Street class brings out the meanest warriors in the South, but even 14-second street machines can compete and have fun.

There’s a show on the strip, too—featuring special Pro Show attractions by Hanna Motorsports, along with the Top Secret Jet Car driven by Ken Hall and the return of Rich Hanna's GOJO Firebird, Pontiac Jet Car, as well as the popular Super Winch Wheelstander, driven by Danny O'Day. Making a first appearance this year at MIR will be the 300 mph. Queen of Diamonds jet dragster driven by Jill Canuso.

Looking for the parts you need to build your Chevy into an on-track winner, or a trophy winner on the show field? (Or both?) Shop the huge manufacturers' midway for the best in new Chevy and GM aftermarket performance parts. Don’t forget to check out the gigantic swap meet, for those hard-to-find performance, styling and restoration treasures.

Get your tickets in advance when you log on to, or at the gate. Three-day weekend passes for adults are just $40, while one-day tickets are just $25 for Saturday, or $15 for either Friday or Sunday. Kids’ tickets are only $5/day for children ages six-twelve, and kids ages five and under get in for free!
