The Chevrolet SS sport sedan is a neat little four-door and Chevrolet’s first rear-drive performance sedan since 1996. Under the hood sits GM’s LS3, 6.2L small-block V-8, which is SAE certified at 415 horsepower and 415 ft-lbs of torque. Sounds like the perfect daily driver for someone who wants to keep their Camaro or Corvette safely tucked inside the garage, but doesn’t want to drive something boring while running errands around town. Then Hennessey got ahold of the Chevy SS and now you might get yourself into less trouble daily driving that Corvette . . .
Hennessey’s HPE600 Supercharged upgrade for the Chevrolet SS employs the use of a TVS2300 supercharger system, HPE air induction system, custom HPE pulley, fuel system upgrade, high-flow fuel injectors, and 160-degree thermostat to create 600 brake horsepower. The 6-speed automatic transmission standard in the SS allows it to run consistent high 11-second passes on the drag strip, with a best of 11.84 at 117 mph. Check out the video below.
Also included in the package are HPE Engine Management Calibration, serial-numbered dash and engine plaques, Hennessey HPE600 exterior badging, premium floor mats, and a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. Professional installation is completed before the SS is dyno-tested at the Sealy, Texas headquarters, and performance-validated at the company's on-site test track, Lonestar Motorsports Park.
Optional add-ons include premium wheel and tire packages, and upgrades for suspension, brakes, transmission, driveline, headers, and exhaust. Custom interior upgrades are also available, as well as CarbonAero body components, carbon fiber trim accents, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and more.
