The Auctions America auction is coming to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, March 14th through 16th and this beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS will be crossing the block in search of a new garage to call home. It is being offered without a reserve, so prepare to enter your bids!
The Chevelle SS LS5 convertible has undergone a full body-off restoration and has a “laser-straight” body. No expense was spared on refurbishment of the beautiful convertible – even the undercarriage is completely perfect.
The Chevelle can be traced back to its production at the General Motors plant in Baltimore, Maryland where it was outfitted with the ever-desirable 454 cubic inch LS5 engine producing 360 horsepower. A four-barrel carburetor sits atop the correct powerplant, which is paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. A dual exhaust with 2.5-inch diameter pipes runs the length of the car delivering a throaty growl.
Factory air conditioning keeps occupants cool – a luxury uncommon with convertibles of its era. The Chevelle also features cowl induction hood and hood lock pins, tinted glass, AM radio, bucket seats, a center console, and a power convertible top, as well as performance suspension and power brakes. A muscular appearance is achieved through the use of SS wheels, dual center stripes, and SS badging.
The Chevelle has been kept in climate-controlled storage. For more information and to learn how you can bid to take this beauty home, visit www.auctionsamerica.com.
