In July, we let you know that Hennessey was creating an HPE700 upgrade package for the 2014 Corvette Stingray which had yet to be offered to the public. Now, they’ve come out with the HPE500 and HPE600 as well, of which only 500 units each will be built for the model year. We don’t need to tell you that the 2014 Corvette Stingray is a capable car on its own right from the factory, but for those looking to up the ante, Hennessey is just a phone call away. They’ll take your stock 455-horsepower, direct-injected 6.2L LT1 V-8 and raise you a couple horses.

What we especially like about the new packages is that they can be bought through authorized Chevrolet dealerships or the installation can take place at the Hennessey facilities in either Houston, Texas or Lake Forest, California. All cars are clearly labeled with their respective upgrade package via engraved aluminum dash plaque with production number, exterior badging, and Hennessey carbon fiber door sill plates, and all come covered by HPE’s 3-year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty.

The HPE500 upgrade will run you about $4,995 and is comprised of stainless steel long-tube headers, high-flow cats, and mid-pipes which match perfectly with the standard-issue rear exhaust section. As long as you’ve opted for the dual-mode performance exhaust already when you ordered your Corvette, tuning the exhaust note is easy using a rotating console-mounted knob. When switched from Touring to Sport to Track modes, the near-stock rumble roars to life and becomes a full-blown growl. An HPE engine computer calibration rounds out the list of powertrain changes.

Want a little more power? Opt for the 600 horsepower upgrade, or HPE600, for $10,950 installed which basically uses an HPE500 as the base before an HPE-spec hydraulic roller camshaft is added and airflow is increased by porting and polishing the factory cylinder heads. Another proprietary HPE tune guarantees correct fuel delivery and spark advance, so that the naturally aspirated C7 can do its thing running on 93-octane premium pump gas.

There are, of course, plenty of optional upgrades to make your Hennessey-powered Corvette even more unique. For more information on the packages and to see what else Hennessey has available for your 2014 Corvette Stingray, visit www.hennesseyperformance.com.
