By this point you may have gotten more than your share of first drive stories about the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Well now it is time to get down to business. VETTE magazine has been working with Redline Motorsports to put the C7 to its paces on the drag strip to really show the potential of the new LT1 engine and seventh-generation chassis. Step one was to establish a baseline, and (of course) step two was to start the modifying. Thankfully the folks at HP Tuners, Nitrous Outlet, and Kooks Custom Headers were quick to market with products to make this build possible. And of course our official test track, Palm Beach International Raceway, was our gracious host for the track testing.
While the complete build will be covered in an upcoming issue of VETTE magazine, what we can tell you is that Redline installed a camshaft, long-tube headers, skinnies, drag radials, and nitrous to become the first C7 in the 10s. Check out the video below for footage of the historic ten-second pass, and stay tuned for more coverage.
