Not long ago, expecting to get sub five second blasts to 60mph in a 4-door sedan were almost unheard of. Sure, lots of high-end exotics could perform at that level; however, on the home front from the big three, those types of vehicles were few and far between. They were usually one-off vehicles that paraded the show scene and rarely saw any sort of daily driving let alone ever produced from the factory. Those types of cars required a slew of modifications that left the platform barely drivable and out of the question for commuting on a regular basis.

We’re happy to report that with the help of Callaway, those times are gone. With the unveiling of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan just recently, aftermarket heroes like Callaway have taken note and we look forward to the idea of carrying lots of people and their stuff, quickly. Callaway, most known for its specialty vehicles including the Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette (GM PRO B2K), have now officially announced the plans for the already potent, naturally-aspirated 6.2 liter powered 2014 Chevrolet SS.

With a powerful plan of upgrades available, Callaway’s 2014 Chevrolet SS SC570 sedan will add onto the current 415hp platform. In its arsenal will be the addition of a liquid-to-air intercooled roots-style, Eaton TVS2300 supercharger with upgraded fuel injectors among others. Also supplied in the SC570 package is a low restriction exhaust system and a boat load of exterior and interior bits to illustrate this is no factory sedan.

All said and done, this sedan is estimated to clip 60mph in 4.5 seconds. And with 570 hp at 6,400 rpm and an equally impressive 535 lb-ft of twist at 4,000 rpm the quarter mile is eaten up in mid-12 second passes at 110mph.

As with any Callaway car, power is not all you’ll get. A sophisticated traction control and sport-tuned suspension will make the handling on the car much more responsive. Brembo brakes will increase the stopping power. What’s most important is the car’s perfect street manners. The SS fuel mileage is practically unchanged from stock with 15 mpg city/23 mpg highway.

Of course, Callaway even backs up their SC570 package with an almost unheard of 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty and an optional 5 year/100,000 mile warranty. How’s that for a guarantee?
