There were no big surprises in the second day of bidding for the remainder of the Lambrecht Chevrolet collection unless you thought you really were going to get a bargain once the prime cars were sold. Bidding was still strong and many vehicles which had weathered years of abuse under the sun's heat, rain's moisture and winter's cold (not to mention vermin and vandals) still attracted the attention of bidders willing to pay just a bit more to snatch up some of the former Lambrecht inventory.
One successful local buyer who was having a 1964 1/2 ton long box pickup fork-lifted onto his trailer said, "I've been trying to buy vehicles from that guy (Lambrecht) for years and he wouldn’t even talk about it. Guess I finally got what I wanted."
A majority of the day 2 vehicles were rated #5, meaning they were in serious need of work in order to actually run. That didn't seem to matter for folks who could see gold where others might have simply seen rust and rot. Not one of the cars or trucks included in this second session ran and for the most part few of them could even roll. But the buyers were there to buy and the auctioneers were more than happy to help speed the process.
Some of the more notable purchases included a:
1967 GMC 3/4 ton pickup (no box and rough interior) - $4500
1949 Chevy 3600 pickup - $5500
1960 Chevy Apache 1/2 ton - $6300
1958 Ford Ranch Wagon - $9000
1980 Chevy Monza (9.4 miles on odometer) - $4000
1963 Chevy Impala SS convertible - $7500
This last vehicle was actually rated as a #6 vehicle, meaning it was so rough that the best anyone could expect would be to scavenge parts from the carcass. Judging by that $7500 final bid, someone needs some parts really bad.
