Mecum Auctions is organizing the sale of this awesome and custom-built 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible packed with a Z06-cam'd LS1 engine and 6-speed Tremec with a polished aluminum transmission case. Nearly everything about the Vette is custom, including one-off stainless steel headers and side pipes, a one-of-a-kind engine cover, custom-made frame with rack and pinion steering and Air Ride Technologies suspension - all major contributions in making this car a sweet competitor on-track and off.

Taking the term "restomod" to an extreme, the beastly '62 also comes equipped with such modern amenities as cruise control, an AM/FM/CD/DVD entertainment system with four speakers, Dakota Digital instruments, and even electric windows, all to be enjoyed from the comfort of a custom leather interior. Even the 15-inch steering wheel is custom made!

Six-piston front and four-piston rear Wilwood brakes bring braking capacities to a new level for the '62, as does a Lokar parking brake handle.

A custom convertible top fabricated by Coffman Corvette and chromed Billet Legacy wheels polish out the look of this sick C1.

The '62 will be auctioned in Chicago on October 12 at 4:55 p.m.
