As seen in this official '62 380hp 409 factory photo, the Carter AFB fuel inlet was moved from the left rear (1961) to the right front. From 1958-1962, knowing that serious racers would install tubular headers, Chevrolet chose to go cheap on their exhaust manifolds. On a 409 competition engine, the addition of headers was worth an additional 100 horsepower. View Related Article
