The Speedway Motors Week to Wicked 1952 Chevy build team has made it through the second day successfully, moving the project forward at a steady pace towards its deadline with only three full days remaining.
With two-thirds of the exterior sheetmetal mounted to the chassis (the front clip and hood will come once the drivetrain has been installed) early on this morning, focus was a bit more wide-spread throughout the rest of the day: the brake system was completed (from the pedal and booster assembly to the respective banjo fittings at all four calipers) and bled; the fuel system was plumbed forward from Speedway Motors' new aluminum EFI fuel tank; the LS3 engine harness was loosely hooked up in preparation of installing; and our Vintage Air SureFit A/C unit was assembled, hung beneath the dash, and the accompanying vent panel installed. As all this transpired, the Chevy's 18-inch Rocket Racing wheels arrived with a fresh set of Falken Azenis radials, which will roll the chassis back under the cab and bed first thing in the morning when we resume the build.
What's left? Well, all the wiring and electrical, drivetrain installation, the exhaust, building the cold-air intake, completing all the plumbing for the fuel and cooling systems, and a ton of miscellaneous things that's sure to keep us plenty busy straight through the rest of the week.
