To accommodate popular drivetrain combinations, Chris Alston's Chassisworks manufactures direct bolt-in tubular transmission crossmembers available for GM F-body ('67- 81 Camaro and Firebird) vehicles equipped with factory subframes or Chassisworks' g-Machine subframe. Improved Racing has released a thermostatic version of its popular low-profile oil cooler adapter. The built-in thermostat helps protect the engine by reducing warm-up time and maintaining oil temperatures at optimal levels when using an oil cooler. The thermostat starts to open at 180 degrees and is fully open by 200 degrees, ensuring oil temperatures do not drop below 180 degrees in most conditions. With the angled front cutout and a maximum thickness of just 1.30 inch, this thermostatic version is still slim enough to clear most long-tube headers. The adapter features a 1/8-inch NPT port for an oil sensor or turbo oil supply. It's machined from a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum and is black-anodized.
