Chevy 383 Stroker Engine - What Could Be More American Than Speed?

American Speed Enterprises Builds A User-Friendly 480hp Small-Block

Make it high torque or high horsepower, let it idle in traffic, and get 19-plus mpg at 80 mph, and "they will come." American Speed Enterprises builds these long-life 383 stroker motors to be driven, but when you get 480 ponies out of them, you can be top dog at the local track day, too. Starting with a four-bolt Chevy block, which is sonic tested, crack checked, and cleaned at least three times, the block is bored and honed .030 over, align-bored, and square decked. New cam bearings and freeze plugs are installed before engine assembly begins. Follow along as we show you the right way to put together a high-performance engine for your Chevy street ride.
