In case you were paying attention to our Facebook page over the last week, you might have stumbled upon a photo of what appears to be the next generation LT4 powerplant.
Not to be confused with the Gen-II wonder from the 90s, this 21st Century version apparently packs a punch, thanks to the already impressive hardware like VVT and direct injection of the C7's LT1.
But the mouth-watering, high-tech goodness doesn't stop there - the eagle-eyed readers among you will be quick to spot a Root-type supercharge sitting on top of this mystery mill. While this photo was supplied to is by a nameless man dressed as a ninja, what we do believe to be true is that this engine packs somewhere in the vicinity of 650 horsepower.
While we have no clue on this engines compression ratio, cam specs, or even the actual displacement (probably 6.2L), it certainly looks to be a TVS 2300 blower with the script, "Corvette LT4," for would be opponents to see. We'll keep our ears and eyes open, and report any news that we do hear. Just don't be surprised if this is the 2015 Z06's powerplant.
