Turbo Pop Off Valve 2/15

10. Because of deadline limitations, we weren’t able to secure a slower pulley ratio, so we resorted to using a turbo pop-off valve to bleed off excess boost. With this package, we were able to maintain 10 psi.

Nose Spark Plugs 3/15

11. Through experience, we’ve learned to use non-projected nose spark plugs (left) on supercharged and nitrous engines making over 500 hp. Autolite makes an X-plug (right) that is essentially a surface gap plug with sharp edges.

Distributor Gear 4/15

12. All ZZ big-block hydraulic roller cam engines require a special melonized distributor gear to mate properly to the steel hydraulic roller cam. Crane makes a gear if you need one – we’ve included the PN in the Parts List. The GM gear (left) can be identified by its silver color that comes from the heat treatment. A bronze gear can be used in a pinch, but they don’t last nearly as long and are almost as expensive.

Torque Graph 5/15

13. While 822 hp is impressive, we really like the monster torque gain at 3,500 rpm between naturally aspirated and supercharged. Assuming we can plant sufficient traction to prevent tire spin, this supercharged power curve could easily push a 3,200-pound Camaro to 9.30’s at 149 mph. With our next combination, 9 teens are within reach. CHP
