2010 Chevy Camaro Naturally Aspirated Dyno 2/25

Naturally aspirated, the 2010 Chevy Camaro laid down a respectable 373 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque.

2010 Chevy Camaro Procharger I 1 Dyno 3/25

Once the i-1 was installed, peak numbers jumped to 561 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque; that’s a gain of 187 hp and 158 lb-ft on pump gas.

Procharger I 1 Display Screen 4/25

The touch-screen also offers a slew of layouts with your choice of areas to monitor and data log. You can arrange the display for a single or multiple gauge view, and you also have your choice of a digital or analog display.

Procharger I 1 Display 5/25

Here’s an example of how you can monitor four parameters in the digital mode. Keep in mind, these are the areas we chose, and you can pick and choose others to suit your personal preference or needs.

Procharger I 1 Display Screen A 6/25

During our visit, the touch-screen was originally placed on the A-pillar. Since then, ProCharger now offers a new dash mounting location; it’s up to you where you want to place the touch-screen, but personally, we dig this location.

Procharger I 1 Lower 7/25

The lower actuator houses the CVT motor, which slides the internal dry-hybrid belt and changes the ratio.

Procharger I 1 Dry Hybrid 8/25

The lower actuator houses the CVT motor, which slides the internal dry-hybrid belt and changes the ratio.

Procharger I 1 Dry Hybrid Belt 9/25

With the lower housing exposed, you can see how the dry-hybrid belt rests inside. The belt is placed between the input and output shafts; as the CVT moves, the dry-hybrid belt moves side to side, enabling it to change the overall effective gear ratio, which ultimately controls the boost levels without having to physically change any external pulleys. If belt life is on your mind, we’ll go ahead and tell you ProCharger has already completed an extensive amount of R&D with well over 2,000 hours of run time; the results showed minimal wear, and rest assured we’re talking serious longevity.

Procharger I 1 Intercooler 10/25

To keep internal temperatures at bay, the two lines shown here blow cold air into the housing from the air-to-air intercooler.

SEMA Recognition
If you were at the SEMA 2013 show in Las Vegas, then you would have caught a sneak peek at the i-1 supercharger; this is where we first got a glimpse of the system and started planning our trip to test it firsthand. We weren't the only ones impressed, as SEMA presented ProCharger a New Products runner-up plaque—this is out of 300-plus entries.

Procharger I 1 12/25

There’s a lot packed into this compact package, and it has a unique ability to fit into a variety of applications. The compressor housing is adjustable and can be clocked nearly 270 degrees, while the lower actuator side can be rotated every 20 degrees. And don’t let its small demeanor fool you; this gem is good for 900 flywheel horsepower, placing it right behind ProCharger’s D-1SC supercharger.

Chevy Corvette 13/25

ProCharger is currently developing a system for C6 Corvettes, so let’s consider this a quick spy shot of things to come.
