Hold It

Dickies, a brand familiar to all motorheads, has come out with something new geared directly to DIYers. The company’s new Mechanics Belt has been built to do two things: hold up your pants, and not scratch your paint. The belt features a leather covered plaque buckle that has no exposed metal on the face, so when you lean over the fender all that can touch the paint is leather. This is a heavy-duty belt that comes in sizes S to XL.

Strengthen It

The Strange Engineering C-Clip-style axles are significantly stronger than typical OEM axles. They are forged from alloy steel, and when combined with a deeper heat treat that increases torsional strength, the axles can reliably handle the power and torque of your muscle car. The axles cover popular 30-spline GM 12-bolt car applications from the ’60s and ’70s. The affordable Strange Alloy C-clip axles do not require any modifications to the factory housings, and will work with factory bearings, seals and studs.

Treat It

Driven’s Carb Defender fuel additive is specifically formulated to protect against ethanol corrosion and induction deposits. High levels of ethanol dilution in motor oil can lead to rust and other corrosion problems in the fuel system, and inside the engine. This new additive, however, controls combustion chamber residue, plus cleans and protects surfaces of the fuel system and intake tract. The additive treats up to 25 gallons of ethanol-blended gas, and should be used with each and every fill-up.

Clip It

Total Cost Involved has completely redesigned its first- and second-generation Nova street/strip front clip. Most notably, TCI has redesigned this clip to use a custom IFS spindle and traditional coil-over shocks, which have better geometry than the previously used the Mustang II spindles. Wheel travel has been increased to 6.5 inches. More ride height and spring rates are available, so you can tune this clip to your exact needs.

Rock It!

Lunati has a new line of rockers that are made just for the LS platform. The rockers are lightweight, yet strong enough to handle aggressive spring pressures and higher lift cams, while featuring an optimized balance of strength and a reduced moment of inertia. Constructed from extruded aircraft-quality aluminum and CNC-machined, the superfinished surface increases durability and sheds oil. Finally, these rocker arms are clearanced for higher lift springs and camshafts.
