New Option Package Honors Corvette Racing
In March, Chevrolet announced the availability of a new GT1 Championship Edition option (RPO GT1). Available on coupe, convertible, and Z06 models, this limited-edition package commemorates the recent successes of Corvette Racing and features the following:

C6.R-inspired graphics featuring "Jake" mascot logos, ALMS championship years, and driver flags
* ZR1-style full-width spoiler (body color)
* Chrome Z06-style wheels
* Ebony leather-wrapped interior with exclusive yellow accent stitching
* GT1 embroidery on seats, instrument panel, and center-console armrest
* Special engine cover with carbon pattern and yellow "Corvette" lettering
* Windshield banner (customer-installed)
* Z51 Performance Package (coupe and convertible versions)
* NPP Dual Mode Exhaust System (coupe and convertible versions)

The GT1 Championship Edition package is available in Black or Velocity Yellow Tintcoat exterior colors, with a specific VIN sequence set aside for each. Only 100 of each model/color combination will be built, for a total of 600 units. For more information, visit www.chevrolet.com/corvette.

BBK Gets CARB Exemption For Cold-air Intakes
BBK Performance has received a California Air Resources Board (CARB) exemption for its new line of cold-air intakes for the '97-'04 C5 and '05 C6 Corvettes. The production pieces are cast in aluminum and feature an easy bolt-on design, titanium coating, a BBK logo, and a washable lifetime filter. Power and torque gains are around 12 horses and 10 lb-ft, according to the manufacturer. Visit www.bbkperformance.com for more information.

Kids Wish Network Announces New Corvette Raffle
For the second year in a row, Kids Wish Network (KWN) is raffling off a matching pair of trick Corvettes, with the lucky winner scoring both cars. The first, a Tuxedo Black '67, is a fully restored 427/390 four-speed car with side pipes, a black interior, and a red "stinger" hood. The matching '09 is a one-of-one "Hero Edition" ZR1 customized for KWN by Alternative Automotive Technologies. It features special paint, upholstery, emblems, and trim. Giveaway sponsors include Chevrolet, Summit Racing, Moroso Performance, Corvette Central, Paragon Corvettes, and Zip Products.

The Fast Lane
Dave Gruber of Oxford, Michigan, is the winner of this month's "Fast Lane" contest. This wheel-standing Corvette racer owns a '69 coupe featuring a 355ci, 725hp SBC engine; AFR 210cc heads; 15.0:1 compression; a Holley 750-cfm carb; a Turbo-400 trans; a Tom's Differentials 12-bolt conversion IRS with spool; and 4.56 gears. His best pass of 10.07 seconds at 132 mph was recorded at Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan.
