But while the GSRT is a high-performance supercar nonpareil, it is not an uncivilized race machine. In fact, Guldstrand was keen to stress the car's livability in everyday driving. "I believe the GSRT is much more driveable than the other [tuner] cars out there," he said. "It's much more comfortable and street-oriented. Some of those Corvettes are strictly for racing, and that's not what we're all about. If we wanted a race car, we'd build a race car. Believe me, we build lots of them. We made sure that the GSRT is extremely safe, reliable, and driveable.

"I am so very proud to be involved with the development of the Corvette, and being able to know the engineers and the people at Chevrolet," Guldstrand concluded. "I've tried through the years to be that kind of a supporter, to always be in line with their philosophies and direction, and to enhance and personalize something that they've done an exceptionally great job on. They're looking at 50,000 customers every year, and I only have a few that I can make a very special car for. To use their product as the base, I'm very, very proud of that."

Only 20 Guldstrand GSRTs will be produced. Each will be based on a Z06 and modified by Guldstrand Motorsports with the following:

* Available in all Z06 colors (silver is the GSRT's signature color)
