The arrival of the C5 in '97 heralded what was arguably the greatest technological leap in Corvette history. The new Vette's 345-horsepower rating put it on par with the big-blocks of the '60s, and the car itself went on to serve as the foundation for the amazing C5-R racers.

A variety of special-edition C5s soon followed, from the rebirth of the Z06 in '01 to the '03 50th Anniversary Edition and the '04 Commemorative cars a few years later. As in the past, each of these limited-run Vettes received its own model-specific badging to help set it apart from the pack.
