Chevrolet's intention to market the C6 Corvette as an international product rather than as America's sports car with some incidental overseas sales was made exceptionally clear on March 2 when the C6 convertible was officially and publicly unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland-a half day ahead of the '05 convertible's North America debut at the Cleveland International Auto Show.

To add a little extra emphasis to this more international marketing effort, Corvette Chief Engineer Dave Hill and GM's Vice President of Design, Ed Welburn (seen together, sitting in the Geneva car) headed up the international debut while Chevrolet Division General Manager Brent Dewar and Corvette Assistant Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter managed the U.S. introduction.

We will have an in-depth look at the '05 convertible in the August issue. Meanwhile, here are a few shots of the next-generation droptop, direct from The General.
