1997 Chevy Corvette C5 - Desert Heat

This C5 Is setting California's Mojave Desert ablaze!

The interior of the car is the epitome of function and elegance. Stick Craft replaced the factory leather upholstery with high-grade black leather suede with blue inlays. Bob says he loves the way the suede looks and feels. "It doesn't get too hot or too cold, plus it really keeps you planted in the seat."

After about a year, and more than a few dollars invested, Bob has one incredible streetcar/weekend racer. But for the moment he's content with blowing people's minds away at shows. He and his wife, Sue, love to watch the crowds flock around the Vette, not to mention all the compliments and awards. Within only a couple of months of its completion, the coupe had already collected Participants' Choice Best C5 at the Corvettes West Big Bear Bash 2000, and took 1st in its class as well as Best of Show at the Wild West Corvettes Fall Frolic.

Briley will soon be sending the transmission to Lingenfelter to have it suitably fortified. And as for the Silver State? "I may never race it, but it's good to know the car's all there if I get the itch," Bob says. The Vette is most certainly "all there." It's hot for sure, but it is no desert mirage!
