After Julie's 11.54 record run at Stanton, certain partisans of another brand began suggesting that the L88 was bogus. Julie put a stop to that, tearing down the engine immediately after its last run. Pure Stock Drags chief tech inspector Scott Tiemann began a careful exam, including P&G, cc'ing the heads, checking for porting, and precise measurement of the cam lobes. The engine, and the record e.t. it ran, were both legit.
