Fortunately, the modified LS1 also has eyeball appeal. Jim laughs. "Yeah," he says. "In fact, we just had them both down at Peddler's Village and, as usual, when we compete against each other she whooped my ass."

Janet also laughs. "Sometimes I do," she says. "I beat him a couple weeks ago. It all depends."

Apparently, Jim and Janet are having fun showing their Corvettes. This way, both participate. Drag racing is out, but one has to wonder if the 405hp convertible with six-speed would take the 345-horse coupe with automatic.

In private, Jim mentioned, "I think I can still beat her. But, you don't want to put that in there."
