Chevrolet Impala

Ever since its introduction in 1958 the Chevy Impala has captured the imagination of automotive fans the world over. Though the first Impala was an upgraded trim option for the Chevy Bel Air, it became its own model in 1959 and for the next 8 years became the best selling full-size car in automotive history. In 1961 the Impala SS (super sport) was released which was the standard for Chevrolet Performance packages. This Impala SS featured a 348ci V8 engine offering up to 350hp or the 409ci V8 that handled up to 425hp. Though several newer designs would emerge in future years and the name would go in and out of retirement we continue to pay tribute to the original classic Chevy Impala that started it all.
